First Glance Photography

25, mother of two, fiancée, photographer. Und so weitter.

I've always loved taking pictures of people. Landscapes are beautiful. Animals are fun. Nature is intriguing and abstract subject is artistic. But only with portraits do you get all those elements at once, and then some.

What I love about photographing people is finding all the different layers, the expressions and quirks that make them so unique. And the fact that one photograph is a single moment in time that can never be seen again, a person as they are in that moment that can never be duplicated, in an ever changing world.

It's only since becoming a mother that I found my passion in child and baby portraiture. Seeing my baby changing every day made me strive to capture every moment I could before it vanished before my eyes. My son quickly taught me that children change all the time, and it becomes far too easy to focus on what they're growing into.. we begin to forget about the person they're leaving behind.

And so, after many many hours of practice and the guidance of other photographers who mentored me along the way, I decided to turn my favourite pastime into a business.

And me? I'm Jess, a 23 year old mother of two toddlers. And when I'm not working, I love books, dance, all things purple, blogging, my cat Becki, acoustic music, duvet days and playing with my two favourite people in the whole world. And photography. But you knew that bit already!
